NCRLC’s program with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to increase the number of fundable CCHD grant applications from rural communities is off and running. NCRLC is providing a consulting assistance role for groups in rural communities who want to apply for CCHD funds. Our focus is especially in dioceses with high rates of poverty and unemployment.
Our long-term goal is to increase the capacity of rural communities to address rural poverty. Currently we are in the process of research and analysis. We are interviewing CCHD grant specialists and diocesan directors to provide input into NCRLC’s outreach strategies. We are also profiling several successful rural projects from across the country, and will be developing a set of practical tips and best practices that will be made available on our website. As we come across past successful grants, we will be posting stories to our website detailing those successful projects for others to learn from.
We have already posted a story about Good Samaritan Home in Ohio, which received a CCHD grant for its Citizen Circle program for parolees.
NCRLC will provide consulting assistance to groups directly through webinars, workshops and conference calls to support the development of grant applications. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Jim Ennis at jim@ncrlc.om or visit our CCHD page.
