World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation

By Catholic Rural Life on August 31, 2016

Stewardship of Creation

The World Day of Prayer for Creation takes place this Thursday, Sept. 1, and features a live stream of Pope Francis presiding at the Liturgy of the Word.

This is also the start of the Season of Creation, which runs from Sept. 1 to the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, Oct. 4.
The world day of prayer and the season calls us to celebrate God’s creation and deepen our commitment to care for the Earth and all who dwell upon it. Along with other Catholic groups, CRL is encouraging everyone to contact both your parish and your diocese to remind them about this important celebration.
