NCRLC Thanks God for Pope Francis

The National Catholic Rural Life Conference rejoices in the election of Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio, S.J., to the Chair of St. Peter. We offer our prayers, support and fidelity to Pope Francis as he begins his ministry as the Successor to the Chair of St. Peter and the universal pastor of the Catholic Church.PopeFrancis

“We heartily agree with the U.S. bishops who said this marks a great milestone in our church,” said NCRLC executive director James Ennis. “Let us commit ourselves to pray for Pope Francis, through his deep concern for the poor, to guide us in a troubled world that needs the light of Christ.”

NCRLC also offers our congratulations to the cardinals of the world who, in concert with the Holy Spirit, chose this new successor to St. Peter. May the Holy Spirit now guide our Holy Father as he takes up the cross of his office and the concerns of the church in the world through his prayer, his action, his charity and in his love for Christ and all of us.
