New blog postings about the Church and rural life
In case visitors to our website don’t always notice our Blog section, we wanted to bring attention to a couple recent blog postings by members of our Board of Directors.
Jenny Kraska is the executive director of the Colorado Catholic Conference, and besides a Board member she’s also the treasurer for Catholic Rural Life. We are grateful for her time and service!
She writes in her recent blog about the Church and rural life, and how important rural culture is for family stability, love of the land, and traditional values. She honors us with her kind words about Catholic Rural Life, especially the work of Edwin V. O’Hara who firmly planted us in the heart of the Church.
In another recent blog posting, Rev. Gregory Mastey of Holdingford, Minn., writes about Bringing Back the Barn Dance. He reflects on an experience with his brother in cleaning out an old barn – and discovering a “gem of a floor”. He goes on to describe a renewal of community life by holding a barn dance, just like the old days.
In both these blog postings, we see the blessings of stopping a moment during this time of year to reflect on where we’ve come from and what is good to hold on to.
So, we invite to take a moment to visit our Blog!
PS: We try to post a new posting every couple of weeks, so come back often if you can.
